FAQs

What is Permanent Cosmetics or Permanent Makeup?

Permanent Makeup is the process in which sterile hypoallergenic color pigments are placed under the dermal layer of the skin using single use sterile needles. The areas to be treated are numbed using topical anesthetics to make your experience comfortable and pleasant. Permanent Cosmetics is also known as Permanent Makeup or Micropigmentation.

What is the Powder Eyebrow technique?

The powder technique mimics the appearance of conventional brow makeup whether it is a brow pencil or brow shadow. If you’re someone who prefers a fuller brow but wants that soft texture, you may want to consider the powdered technique.

What is the Hair Stroke Eyebrow technique?

The hair stroke technique is done by implanting the pigment into the skin in fine hair-like strokes, giving the appearance of natural hair. This technique can be performed using microblading or a machine. This innovative technique is far more natural looking than a solid fill.

What should I do beforehand to prepare?

Some of Angie recommendations include:

  • No facials for two weeks before or after

  • No blood thinners the night before or day of

  • No caffeine, alcohol or pre-workouts the night before or day of

  • No brow waxing two weeks before

Does it hurt?

Before the procedure, a topical anesthetic cream will be applied to numb the area. A topical anesthetic gel is also applied during your procedure to ensure you remain comfortable. There are certain factors that may affect your sensitivity to the procedure such as being a smoker, if you are on your menstrual cycle, or if you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. The client's comfort is a priority and additional anesthetic may be applied for longer to ensure it is effective for the client's sensitivity.

How long is the healing process?

For the first 2 weeks, Angie ask to be extremely careful with the area; meaning no makeup, sun exposure, moisture or friction of any kind. You will experience some scabbing a few days after the procedure. Once the scabbing has finished, you may apply any makeup to the area and wash your face normally.

How long does it last?

Permanent makeup will last anywhere from 1-3 years. However, skin type, lifestyle and maintenance all take in part of the duration. Angie recommend her clients to come back yearly for a color boost to freshen up the area and the color and keep it looking good as new.

How do I know if permanent makeup is for me?

Most people are tired of constantly filling in your brows, putting on eyeliner or lipstick and are looking for a more permanent solution. If this describes you, then this is for you. Also, if you have suffered from some sort of hair loss or are looking for a more natural look without putting in so much effort, you are a good candidate for permanent makeup. Permanent makeup is also great for people who are active, always on the go, busy moms, people in the entertainment industry who need to look good at any given time, or women who simply want to spend less time in front of the mirror. A cosmetic tattoo can make a big difference to a person's life. It can greatly increase your confidence in your appearance and save you valuable time.

Is permanent makeup expensive?

Angie Rodz believes that people are looking for the highest possible quality of work. As stated, remember that this is your face and there is no room for compromise. Only the highest quality of work should suffice. When it comes to your face, accept nothing less than a first class result with no one else but a master practitioner. Remember this is your face, you want perfect permanent makeup.

There are certain factors in individuals that may affect your permanent cosmetics. If you have very oily skin, the hairstroke eyebrow technique won't be a good option for you. Increased oil production can cause the indivual hairstrokes to blur and turn into a more solid; powdered appearance. Smokers will often notice their tattoo will fade faster than normal and they may require a Color Boost appointment sooner than a non-smoker. Anemia or an iron deficiency can also cause your tattoo to fade faster and you may experience more bleeding and/or bruising.
